5 things I love about being married

Well there I was .. online late at night on a saturday trying to stay awake and keep my clock sane for the weeknights, when I happened to get chatting with my friend Tarika. For those who do not know her, she is getting married on 09-09-09 (YES she is one of a kind).

So as part of our conversation, she happened to ask me what are the Top 5 things I love about being married. So; that very moment I started typing and by the end of it thought it was nice enough to share on my blog !

So here goes my top 5 (no edits done from the conversation on facebook ....)

1. the laughs .... when you find someone to share your life with, who also shares your sense of humour, life is eternal bliss

2. the warmth .... unlike movie ideas of marriage, the warmth of love when you commit your lives to each other ... is brilliant. nothing compares

3. the moments .... life's best parts are those little 'hard to see' moments .. if you are living with the right person, those moments are what make it all worth it. You will know it when you go through one

4. coming back home ... A boring daily ritual of coming home becomes a celebration when you have someone waiting .... its such a special feeling. I am normally smiling half way home :-)

5. The progeny ...Atleast a dozen friends of mine have had children in the past year. I don't have kids yet, but when I see the love in my friend's eyes for their kids, I realize THAT love will probably be even more lasting than what you feel for your spouse .... I eagerly await the day

I have 6 too ... Idle conversation .... there is a nepalese saying .. marry someone you can talk to, for when you are old and sex has lost its meaning, talk is all you have :-). It is amazing if you find someone you can talk endlessly to.

So there we are  ... she also asked me what was the one thing I didn't like about being married. I came up with 5.
So here are my 5 picks ...

1) Are you kidding yourself ???? I would suspect Kamikaze pilots would have a better chance of survival than a husband who posts such stuff on the web !
If you might be familiar with the Japanese ritual of Hara Kiri, you will know that posting even one item under this header is a guarantee of no breakfast for life ! No breakfast made by the wife for sure :-)

Sorry for all the Japanese references ... just finished watching "The Last Samurai" again ... what a brilliant movie !

So there it is people .... read this, enjoy it and DON'T forget to call / msg Mirjam and tell her how much I love her, for I sincerely meant every word of what I said.

Desperate woman writes to the Technical support Guy

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5..0, MONEY 3.0 and CRICKET 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and House cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

DEAR DESPERATE Madam,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Silence 2.5 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.
We recommend: Cooking 3.0 and Hot Looks 7.7.
