Tea and samosas, were used to be a part of non-technical meetings (it still may be), which have been replaced by `coke' and `burgers' due to the globalisation of business areas. These days tea is more used as a medium to minimize (it doesn't remove) the bad taste and odour left after smoking. Non-smokers like me though still have samosas.
For the last 4 weeks, I have been working at odd timings, from 2/3/4/5 in the afternoon to 5/6/7/8 the next morning. I am day worker and I hate working in the night. Sort of my way of discipline, but then if work is dependent on timings, then I have no choice.
During this period, we (me and my colleagues) go to a tea shop at T.Nagar (near residency hotel), and have samosas and tea. Smokers have a (or 2) cigars. The samosas are made in usual south indian tea shop way, has only onions and nothing else. but they are served (we just have to pick them from the tray) hot and it gives immense freshness along with the tea, as it would give in a boring close room non-technical meeting.
Phew....hope to get back to normal day timings soon.
