Abhiyum Naanum is Excellent....!!

Yesterday, I happened to see the movie `Abhiyum Naanum` along with Amma, at INOX. Well, I never used to get tickets for a movie, for a show, on the second day of the release. This time, I was lucky. Probably, everyone wanted to watch something else, or probably, the casting of the movie, didn't attract people. I wanted to see it because of, 1. Prakash Raj, 2. Amma is a fan of Prakash Raj, 3. The Mozhi magic, 4. was a story about a Father and a daughter.

One may feel it is a copy of `Father of the Bride 1`. Not taking any credits from Steve Martin, I would say that Prakash Raj had donned the role much better than Steve. May be the language (Tamil) and the element of the culture, and the Mozhi effect have influenced this liking.

It was a script, which can be seen through in a practical life as far as I am concerned. The journey of a father bringing up his only daughter, until she gets married. There is so much of life in the charaterization of every one. As for Trisha, this was a variety from the `glamorous ones` she has been doing until this one.

Kungfu Panda and Self Realization

Last week, I happened to watch `Kungfu Panda` along with my team mates at INOX. Thanks to Nagendra for his review and his `must see` tag for the movie.

The movie was excellent, and I just loved the Po, the Panda. `There is something better written in my destiny` kind of attitude to `Realization of self`. you will just love it. Don't bother about the script. It is similar to the Chinese movies of the 80's, about a master and his disciple. But when it comes with an adorable character of the Panda, it makes a difference.

One thing that the movie highlighted was that for something/someone to be special, one does not have to look for specific things. Instead, one just has to believe that it is really special, and to know that you are special, you have to believe in yourself. That is the same thing that Bhagvad Gita speaks about on `realization of self`.

Dasavatharam - A stupendous effort

Last Saturday, i.e. 14th June 2008, most of us from office went for the movie at Prarthana Drive-in. I shall just list down what I felt, starting with the negatives.

• Story was a bit extended. Could have been altered.
• Couldn't enjoy because of poor sound system at the theater.
• Not all people will be ale to digest or understand it, because it is not a the stereotypical movie.
• Music was good in parts, am not completely satisfied.
• Mallika Sherawat.

That's all I could find anything bad about watching the movie. Now the positive.

• Fantastic characterization of each of the ten avatar's, with relevance to each of their parts in the script, without even showing a trace of a problem in transition of a character.
• One will realize that it is the work of an intelligent thinker and not just a normal person.
• Small deviations from the story line, were not actual deviations, which we realized in the end.
• Kamal Hassan
• Asin has improved a lot, probably reflection of working with a senior intelligent artist.

This movie is a positive sign, that with intelligent thinking the entertainment business can be elevated to greater heights. But whether the common man will stick to the common `masala principle` always will determine the trend, unless there are more people who are innovative and are willing to take risk.

Yes, I watched latest Rajni movie; Sivaji and that too at Mayajaal (i have been longing to watch a movie there). It's worth your money is what I can say about the stylish film, and Shankar is the best to take it that way.

This is a terrific song with nice beats. Heard this time when in Kerala. The best part is, it is sung by Amit Kumar. He has such a nice voice but just didn't click like his father Kishore Kumar. Probably, Amit Kumar came at a time, when everyone wanted to listen to new voice, which came from Kumar Shanu, Udit Narain etc. This was the period of late 80's and early 90's. I know only a few songs sung by Amit Kumar and I like them all. Some of them are:
